Our ValuesOperation Jumpstart has been serving the needs of expelled students in St. Tammany Parish for ten years. Through character building activities, studies relating to current events, and high academic expectation; students are given the tools necessary to help them become more successful when returning to a regular campus .

High School Principal Chris O'Regan:Mr. O'Regan has been an educator in St. Tammany Parish for 30 years. He holds a masters degree in counseling and a specialist degree in administration and supervision. He was a special education teacher in several district schools before becoming coordinator of services for behavior disordered students in 1988. In 1992 Mr. O’Regan was named principal of what is now Slidell Pathways and in 1997 he became the first principal of Operation Jumpstart Alternative School. Mr. O’Regan is married to Annette O’Regan, a college counselor in the district, and has one adult son. Junior High Principal Danny Thiel:
Mr. Thiel was raised in New Orleans and holds a B.A. in Education in 1972 and a Masters of Education in 1973 from Southeastern Louisiana University. He has 32 years experience including: Southeast Louisiana Hospital School, Tulane University Head Track Coach, Fontainebleau Jr. High School, and other St. Tammany schools. He accepted this position because he has worked many years with troubled youth and has always felt a calling for this work. Mr. Thiel enjoys running, camping, hiking, biking, and most other sports. He believes that education is a life long process that we are always involved in, as both student and teachers. |
